Please join us in making a positive difference in the lives of Black Immigrants and Refugees.
What began as a small newcomer support group grew into the National Network for Immigrants and Refugees - Canada (NNIR), a Black-led Refugee youth organization dedicated to supporting and empowering Black Immigrants and Refugees in Canada. We understand the unique challenges our community faces and our commitment lies to delivering continuous, hands-on programming and services in Advocacy, Community Engagement, Education and Cultural Competence.
We are committed to providing tailored support, opportunities and resources to empower Black Immigrants and Refugees.
We aim to create an inclusive community where Black Immigrants and Refugees can thrive, belong and fully contribute to society.
We believe in youth leadership to create positive change and be the platform through which we will see future change in our communities.
We embrace diversity and work to create inclusive spaces—spaces where the voices of all individuals are welcomed and valued.
We believe in giving people the ability to take control of their lives and destiny.
We believe in and strive for fair treatment and equal opportunity for all newcomers.
We maintain the greatest levels of integrity, honesty, transparency, and accountability in all of our work.
As a recent newcomer to Canada, I received tailored settlement support through the 'Ask the Expert' newcomers' program, which boosted confidence in my settlement journey and prepared me to integrate into Canadian society.
NNIR-Canada is a community of hope
Our organization truly believes that we can achieve more goals than ever before by working together as a black community in Canada.

I was linked to a mental health therapist through NNIR's Competent Mental Health program and it changed my life. Because of the help I received, I chose to volunteer and I am currently involved in Mental Health Support outreach, working to ensure that every black Immigrant and Refugee receives the required support.
